Main Page >> Sculpture Dr joseph hemingway, The impossible dream. now showing that great craftmenship is still alive today,in 1759 one design 23r was created by a Isac taylor, for thomas chippendale, for publication in his 3rd book named "The Gentleman and cabinetmaker's Director 1762" this was shelved (no one could make it) imposssible to make,that was there claim then, not even its designer Mr chippendale could rise to this challenge,sadly 23r had to lay unmade untill the year: 2000,now in 2006 there are one pair of 23r carved, compleat with the director covers,made in pure silk embroudery,making the finest chippendale designed chairs ever(so im told)?this statment may not be true "better watch this space" visit site |
